Reports from security circle on Wednesday indicated that a major financier of a kidnapping ring in Edo and the surrounding states, Kelvin Oburuvbe, has been arrested by operatives of the SSS.
A source says this goes to confirm Governor Rotimi Amaechi's statement that criminals are now coming back to Rivers due to the posture of the police commissioner, Joseph Mbu.
It was gathered that Kelvin Oburuvbe is the same person that gave the Federal Government an ultimatum to give him and his boys amnesty or be ready to incur his wrath.
Kelvin is believed to be instrumental to recent abduction of human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, his driver and a leader of the APC, Chief Athansius Ugbome, on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
He is undergoing interrogation in preparation for his arraignment in court.
"We have been on his trail for more than two years. He is responsible for most of the high profile kidnap in the state. The latest is the kidnap of Chief Mike Ozekhome in August this year."It was gathered that the kidnap kingpin was rounded up with some of his loyal boys while they were enjoying themselves at a popular hotel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
